equal parts fierce and tender, fara's work explores and celebrates the often paradoxical nature of life—the dance between grief and joy, the beauty that persists in a brutal world, and how hope can be found hidden inside despair. she is a truth teller who seeks to shine a light on the cruelty and hypocrisy of oppressive systems while inviting us to remember and step into our power. she calls on us to witness the ugliness of the world while refusing to stop loving it.

fara tucker is a Brooklyn born poet who currently writes from her home in Portland, Oregon. Her poetry can be found in Anti-Heroin Chic, Child Welfare Journal, and several anthologies. Her poem "Another Mass Shooting and I Write Another Poem" won 3rd place in the 2024 University of Iowa National Social Work Poetry Contest.
